Three weeks ago…
Heavy, industrial music filled the room and traveled up Loren Gates’ body to settle in his balls. He rarely got out onto the dance floor, but David, his bartender, had essentially shoved him out from behind the bar. The guy grinding against Loren was hot and very obvious about wanting more than dancing, but Loren just wasn’t feeling it. The dude could dance, no doubt, but he was a bit too rough around the edges for Loren’s tastes. Eventually, the man moved on to greener pastures.
Loren managed to slip out of the throng and headed back toward the bar. He’d almost reached it when a flash of dark, orange-red hair caught his attention. He watched the young man glide through the crowd, the petite body slinking like only a wolf could amidst a sea of half-dressed, sweat-slick bodies. He was alone, at least from what Loren could tell, and he was definitely young. If Loren had to guess, he’d peg the guy at no more than twenty-two or so.
When the man made it to the bar, Loren couldn’t help but admire the slim figure. He had to be about a foot shorter than Loren and was certainly smaller in build. Loren slipped behind the bar on the pretense of grabbing a bottled water and glanced over. A sweet, boy-next-door face, covered in adorable freckles, lit up like a Christmas tree at whatever David said to him. David placed an ice-cold bottle of beer in front of the young man before handing the redheaded angel his change. As soon as the man left the bar, Loren swooped over, unable to help himself.
“Please tell me you IDed him.”
David shot him an incredulous look. “What kind of question is that?”
Loren scanned the crowd until his gaze locked onto that gorgeous body caught between a couple of men on the dance floor. His wolf snarled deep inside. “Name?”
“Robin.”
Fingers snapped in front of Loren’s face, and he blinked over at his bartender.
David just shook his head and gestured toward the crowd. “If you want a piece of that, you better move fast.”
