Arian Derwydd Books, LLC, is now accepting submissions. Please review our submission guidelines below so you know how to prepare your manuscript.
Adhering to the following guidelines on formatting will help speed up the submission and editing processes when you submit your work to Arian Derwydd Books, LLC. We pay 50% on print and ebook sales. All books over 30K words (8K for poetry collections) go to print.
All submissions should be sent via email to: arianderwyddbooks@gmail.com with the subject line SUBMISSION: TITLE by AUTHOR. Please include a brief synopsis of your book, length, and genre(s). Our reading time is four weeks.
Arian Derwydd Books, LLC, publishes books of varying lengths and genres. We are open to m/f (male/female), m/m (male/male), f/f (female/female), and any other combinations. We primarily publish romances/erotica, but we do take non-romance books as well. We love all genres and sub-genres of fiction, as well as poetry collections. We do NOT publish any books aimed at readers under the age of 18, however. So no Young Adult, New Adult, children’s, or middle-grade books will be accepted.
STORY LENGTH:
Super-Shorts: 2000 – 7999 words (Price: 0.99)
Short Story: 8000 – 10000 words (Price: 2.99)
Novelette: 10001 – 20000 words (Price: 3.99)
Novella: 20001 – 40000 words (Price: 4.99)
Novel: 40001 – 100,000 words (Price: 5.99)
Super Novel: 100,001 – 125,000 words (Price: 6.99)
FORMATTING:
1) Font: Although we use Book Antiqua for our final formats, submissions can use Times New Roman or Arial fonts as well. Font size is 12 pt for the body, 14 pt for chapter headings.
2) Scene/POV Breaks: Use three centered asterisks with a space between each for all scene breaks/pov breaks. No headhopping (more than one POV per scene) – all POV shifts must be set apart by three asterisks.
3) Indents: Indents must be set to .5 First Line in the Paragraph dialogue box in Word. Do NOT use TAB! Justify text to the left, indent only the first line of a paragraph.
4) Chapter Breaks: Insert a page break for each new chapter using the Insert Page Break in Word.
5) Spacing: Use single line spacing throughout the manuscript. No spaces between paragraphs.
6) Thoughts, On-Screen/Phone, & Telepathic Speech: All thoughts, On-Screen/Phone text, and telepathic speech must be in italics. For On-Screen/Phone, this includes texts, emails, messages (ie, Messenger, etc) – essentially anything read on a screen/phone.
7) Foreign Words/Phrases: All foreign (non-English) words and phrases must be in italics. It is highly suggested that a brief glossary be included at the end of the book stating the meaning/translation of each word/phrase. This goes for fictional languages as well.
CONTENT:
The following is a list of topics we do NOT publish:
1) Bestiality: This only pertains to non-sentient creatures. Sentient beings (shapeshifters) ARE allowed.
2) Age: No sex scenes will involve any character under the age of majority (18 in the United States). Age must be clear in some way, even in a fictional (including fantasy) setting.
3) Scat: While many stories may include various bodily fluids, scat (poop play) is a hard no.
PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED MATERIAL:
Arian Derwydd Books, LLC, does take previously published material. We require a proof of rights returned to the author when submitting the manuscript. This proof must include: previous publisher, rights reverted to the author, date of reversion, publisher contact information.
SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS:
Arian Derwydd Books, LLC, accepts simultaneous submissions, but please let us know where else the submission is being considered upon submission of the manuscript.
MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS:
Arian Derwydd Books, LLC, accepts multiple submissions only from in-house authors. New authors may only submit one manuscript at a time. If a manuscript is part of a series, please state this in the submission email.
