Bloodmoon Wars 5

Dixon Russo is still coping with the loss of his first mate, Travis, ten years after the omega’s death. Now Dixon has Alex, a young omega he adores more than anything. Old fears linger, however, and Dixon struggles with claiming Alex, fearful that history will repeat itself.

Alex Pearson loves his job at Dixon Russo’s clinic—almost as much as he loves the doctor himself. He knows Dixon is scared of what could go wrong, but the urge to feel Dixon claiming him is strong enough to push aside that fear. He has all the faith in the world in Dixon. He just needs Dixon to have faith in himself.

EXCERPT:

“You would love him. He’s perfect.”

Dixon Russo sighed and closed his eyes. He’d been out here, on the porch swing, for an hour now, but he wasn’t any closer to a decision. The wind blew and rustled the leaves on the trees, as if Travis was trying to answer him.

“I know I can’t wait forever. God, Travis, I love him and want to protect him. I’m just… scared.”

Travis had been gone for ten years now, but Dixon often found himself talking to the memory of his first mate like the man was still here, right in front of him and ready to give advice. Travis would’ve told Dixon to stop worrying and stake his claim. The unknowns stayed Dixon ever single time he touched Alex, though. It was why he hadn’t actually gone all the way with him. Dixon knew, without a doubt, that he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from biting. As it was, he had to force himself to avoid Alex’s neck, despite how utterly addictive his omega’s sweet scent had become.

“Dixon?”

He opened his eyes and held out a hand. Alex sat on his lap sideways, and Dixon set the swing rocking slowly with one foot. Alex’s head rested on Dixon’s shoulder, and chocolate and lilacs filled Dixon’s senses. He buried his face in Alex’s long, dark hair and inhaled deeply.

“Are you okay?”

Dixon nodded. “I am. Just…” He sighed and held onto his boy a bit tighter.

Alex nuzzled his neck. “I wish I could erase your worries.”

“So do I,” Dixon murmured, pressing a kiss to Alex’s head. “I keep hoping for an answer, but I know that’s ridiculous.”

“Not really.” Alex lifted his head and smiled. “He was important to you.”

You are important to me,” Dixon said as he looked into those beautiful, dark blue eyes. “More than I can ever explain.”

Alex leaned in for a kiss. Dixon cupped his mate’s face in one hand and turned what had been a chaste kiss into something far more. He could smell his lover’s arousal, and the urge to move his mouth lower, to sink his teeth into the scent glands at the bend of Alex’s neck, was only getting stronger.

Alex moaned and shifted position until he was straddling Dixon. He draped his arms around Dixon’s neck and dove back into the kiss. Dixon held onto the man’s hips and pinned Alex to him so his omega could feel just how much Dixon wanted him.

“Please,” Alex whispered. He rocked a little, and Dixon felt his mate’s hard cock against him. “I’m strong enough. I need you.”

Dixon groaned. They played a lot, but even his wolf was growing impatient despite the fear. He knew he couldn’t keep this up. “Shower, Babyboy. We’ve both waited long enough.”
