Frost Burn – Mychael Black
Slow Burn 1
Being gay in rural Tennessee comes with all sorts of issues. For Jamie Frost, those issues stem from his bigoted father and brother. When he and his best friend go to Nashville for a bit of fun, however, Jamie meets a man who changes his life forever.
Morgan Sears swore he’d never return to his tiny hometown of Sawyer, Tennessee. Yet, return he has, determined to give the place the medical care its people need. He expects a bit of nostalgia, maybe even a bit of opposition. What he doesn’t expect is to see the young man who managed to wrap himself around Morgan’s heart after one night in Nashville.

EXCERPT:
Several hours later, they were sitting in one of Nashville’s best gay bars, sipping beers and just enjoying being away from Sawyer for a while. Country music kept the dance floor full with all sorts of people and pairings. It felt like a different world.
Jared bumped his shoulder. “That dude’s been watching you since we walked in.” He discreetly tipped his bottle in the direction of a single man sitting at a table. The guy was indeed looking at them.
Jamie studied him for a moment. Not a cowboy, but just as ruggedly handsome. Definitely older, with near-black hair cut short, the slightest hint of gray at the temples. He was built, but not overly muscled. Those biceps hadn’t come from a gym, but the man didn’t seem to be the type to do hard labor either. He looked like a lawyer, to be honest. A hot, almost-silver-fox lawyer, dressed in a suit that somehow looked casual and not uptight.
Even from across the room, Jamie felt those dark eyes on him like a touch.
The sensation unnerved him, and he took another swig of beer. His nerves were all over the fucking place.
“You gonna go say hi?” Jared asked him.
Jamie wanted to. God, he wanted to. “I don’t know. He’s… intense.”
Jared chuckled. “Okay, I won’t argue with that. He looks like he wants to fucking devour you.”
Jamie shivered. That’s precisely what he’d thought. He took another drink to steel his nerves because he really wanted to go over there, but he didn’t get a chance.
The silver fox was headed their way.
Up close, he was hotter than anyone Jamie had ever seen.
“A dance?”
Jamie nodded, utterly mute. He took the man’s outstretched hand and stood. The man led the way to the dance floor, and a slower song began. Jamie found himself hip to hip, chest to chest, trapped by eyes almost as black as the man’s hair.
“What’s your name?”
“Jamie. Yours?”
“Morgan Sears.”
Jamie watched those lips move and had never wanted to kiss someone so fucking much. Morgan’s mouth beckoned him like a moth to a flame.
“Something on your mind?”
Morgan’s voice slid through Jamie like a hot knife through butter. He couldn’t stop the shiver that slithered through him. Morgan smirked, the expression sexy as sin yet arrogant as hell.
“I asked you a question, boy.”
